‘You’ll Never Be Like Me’ competition: How to write fiction in 10 minutes

You won’t find any word salad, but you can make a decent living from it.

The “You’ll never be like me” competition, sponsored by Creative Writing Australia, will give students a chance to write a novel in 10 seconds.

To qualify, students must be able to:Read at least four novels and be in a writing classThe winning essay must be a work of fictionThe writing will be judged by a panel of creative writers and the winner will be chosen by a vote of the community.

The contest is free to enter and all entries must be submitted via the Creative Writing Australian Facebook page by Tuesday August 6.

It’s a great way to get in touch with the community and help the state and federal governments help write the next generation of writers.

The competition has been launched by the ACT Government and is open to all creative writers from all ages.

The winner of the competition will receive $500 cash in support of Creative Writing Victoria.
